Lighthouse in Düsseldorf

The Lighthouse in Düsseldorf is an office and administrative building in the Derendorf suburb of the city. Even when designing the architecture, the architect Thomas Pink of the Düsseldorf architects Petzinka Pink Architekten used light as a design element for branding. Thus, the slender LED light strips attached to the facade of the new building accentuate the architecture. Each of the 7 floors of the U-shaped building is highlighted, making the structure of the architecture visible, even in daylight.

Lighthouse in Düsseldorf The Lighthouse in Düsseldorf is an office and administrative building in the Derendorf suburb of the city. Thus, the slender LED light strips attached to the facade of the new building accentuate the architecture. Each of the 7 floors of the U-shaped building is highlighted, making the structure of the architecture visible, even in daylight. The luminous intensity of the light strips, light scenes and colour variations can be set individually. The automatic recall of preprogrammed light scenarios is controlled using calendar functions (dawn and dusk). Of course, besides the currently-used light compositions, new light scenes, e.g. for special events, can be programmed and made available by remote maintenance. The instalight 4010 light lines – a total of 1430 m – are equipped with 89145 LEDs in 4523 individually-controllable LED modules. 55 control units with 13569 control channels ensure that the transmission of the signals transmitted by the Insta control system UNIVERS can be transmitted to the entire installation at a speed of up to 1 Gbit/s. With its innovatively illuminated facade, the Lighthouse is a pioneer in the field of urban redevelopment in the north of Düsseldorf. A previously industrial area is undergoing a change to a district of offices and homes. Modern buildings for service companies are being integrated into the existing building landscape in stages. The Düsseldorf Lighthouse is a fine example of the vitality resulting from a successful combination of architecture and light.

The light line system serves as an ideal tool for effective building accentuation. Reduced to a minimum of material in mechanical terms, the LED light line supports the architectural building character but, when switched off, recedes almost invisibly into the background.

  • LEDLUX LX RGB linear LEDLUX LX RGB linear
The linear RGB light insert stands out through its dynamic light and can be integrated into the architecture in a modular fashion. In so doing, the light element fascinates through its precisely controllable coloured light and particularly even light distribution.

The light line system serves as an ideal tool for effective building accentuation. Reduced to a minimum of material in mechanical terms, the LED light line supports the architectural building character but, when switched off, recedes almost invisibly into the background. In addition, the light insert stands out through a direct connection to the mains voltage and compatibility with standard dimmers.
