Light lines on the pier

The Marina Bay Waterfront Promenade was opened by the Prime Minister of Singapore in July 2010 and is now a popular leisure destination for tourists and the residents of the city of millions. The 3.5-kilometre-long promenade is an important urban link connecting the various attractions around Marina Bay. The project includes a promenade on two levels as well as a visitor centre and an observation deck designed for major events in the city.

The location and design of important junctions and interfaces within the promenade deliberately relate to the urban environment and the entire pedestrian network with a multitude of bus stops and pedestrian crossings.

To emphasise the impressive length of the promenade, the pier is framed with a 550 metre long light line of LEDLUX linear LH luminaires from InstaLighting. The light line extends along the shore and marks the transition from land to water. Similarly, the granite benches that invite visitors to linger on the promenade are transformed into light objects that correspond with the shoreline in terms of design. For this purpose, 450 metres of OLL1 4010 façade lines in warm white are used, which are seamlessly installed in the benches.
