Leicester Square is east of Piccadilly Circus and north of Trafalgar Square in central London. Around the park is a pedestrian zone with large cinemas, hotels and shops. In the middle of the park are statues of William Shakespeare, Charlie Chaplin, William Hogarth, John Hunter and Isaac Newton. The hustle and bustle can be observed from the illuminated seating areas.
Nach 17 monatiger Arbeit konnte der Platz im Frühjahr 2012 mit einem rauschenden Fest neu eingeweiht werden, nachdem nahezu jeder Stein umgedreht, der Platz komplett neu begrünt, Sitzflächen erneuert und eine das Areal umfassende Beleuchtung mit warmweißen instalight LEDLUX LN unterhalb der Bänke installiert wurde.
