Oste ferry terminal

The ferry pier on the Oste in Gräpel is a destination for excursionists and visitors to the local shooting festival. Located in the middle of a natural idyll, the jetty has now been made accessible for the small pedestrian and bicycle ferry "Püttenhüpper" of the "Geesthof" holiday park in Hechthausen, thus connecting the districts of Stade and Cuxhaven for tourism. A large lakeside terrace with a view of the river will serve as a seating area in the future and can also be used to line up shooters and as a backdrop for group photos of clubs.

However, the banks of the Oste are also home to many animals and insects. When designing the lighting for the dock, animal welfare and the “Dark Sky” concept were therefore central to the planning from the very beginning. The LEDLUX LED-lines from InstaLighting, integrated directly into the handrail of the railing, are characterized by excellent glare control and precise light guidance. This ensures that the light goes only where it is intended, leaving the animals’ habitat undisturbed. At the same time, the lighting ensures maximum safety and creates a magical atmosphere along the river in the evening hours.
