Institute of Music at the University of Applied Science, Osnabrück

light and rhythm

The new building for the Institute of Music at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences is divided into three elegant building blocks, with an internal passageway serving as a meeting place and space for interaction. The institute is formed by an ensemble of three ‘plectrums’, across which the functions of the stage house, rehearsals and movement are distributed.

A special feature is the facade made of perforated metal plates. In combination with 2×2 OS4 outdoor spotlights from InstaLighting, dynamic patterns are thrown onto the facade that evoke associations with rhythms and sounds.

The OS4 outdoor spotlight is based on the innovative “Elements” lighting platform. The OS4’s Elements micro-reflectors are perfectly glare-free and direct the light exactly where it is needed. Thanks to its compact size, the distance between the perforations and the outer wall has been minimised, thereby enhancing the dynamic lighting effect.

Elements is InstaLighting's modular technology platform for maximum demands on light quality and flexibility in planning. High-quality lighting tools can be configured for every imaginable application from a modular system of optics, lamps and electronics.
