New connections for the greater Paris region

The northern extension of line 14 of the Paris Metro is primarily intended to relieve line 13 and includes the construction of four new stations over a distance of 5.8 km: Pont Cardinet, Porte de Clichy, Saint-Ouen, Mairie de Saint-Ouen . The more than 96,000 residents of Clichy-Batignolles, Clichy and Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine are now closely connected to Paris' public transport network. More than 600,000 people use the route every day. The project is part of the city of Paris' plans to drastically reduce car traffic in the metropolis and to implement a future-oriented, sustainable traffic concept. The iconic Porte de Clichy station is the central hub and connection to line 13 and the RER C commuter line station.

The special challenge during construction consisted of the depth of the station and the enormous volume of the large hall, which was 30 meters high, 22 meters wide and 130 meters long. Accordingly, stairways and their lighting play a special role in the design of the station. 1,700 OHR3 handrail lights from InstaLighting in four different lengths not only increase safety and orientation, but also set the scene for the impressive architecture. In particular, the continuous, uninterrupted lighting surface supports the optical structuring of the room. The product is specifically designed to meet the lighting needs and specifications of lighting designers aged 8-18.
