With the design of a striking staircase and an adjacent bridge, the Kirchheim 2024 State Garden Show has created a new, highly visible space for movement within the grounds.
Along the handrail-integrated guidance system, 140 OHR2 N27 luminaires—featuring 3000K and an asymmetrical light distribution—were installed; these were developed specifically for the 27-millimeter groove width within the handrail. The warm-white illumination spreads evenly across the metal steps, creating a safe yet atmospheric sense of orientation during the evening hours.
Thanks to the precise light control, the surrounding area remains free of glare, while the architecture of the walkway and staircase is subtly highlighted. In this way, the project combines functional wayfinding with a clear design statement in the public space.
