The Olympia Shopping Centre (OEZ) in Munich is one of the highest-turnover properties in the portfolio of ECE, a property developer and shopping centre operator. Shortly before its 50th anniversary, the OEZ underwent extensive refurbishment. Spanning over 56,000 m², it houses 135 shops as well as areas for dining and entertainment. The extensive refurbishment of the centre features a modern mall concept with the themed areas “Love to shop”, “Love to shop cool”, “Love fashion” and “Love food”, along with an attractive new design that creates a genuine feel-good atmosphere.
A new lighting concept creates a modern, bright and friendly atmosphere for each of the different subject areas. All of the lighting is designed in tunable white, can be controlled individually and thus optimally adapts to the circadian course of the day.
The flexible NoLimit modular system combines accent lighting with basic lighting and gives the ceilings a rhythmic effect with a dynamic, linear grid. The NoLimit system is also used in the atrium, where light is subtly integrated into archways that also serve as a support system for decorative lighting elements.
DL1 day/night downlights ensure a shift between focal lighting (sun) and soft ambient lighting (moon), without compromising the quality of the overall lighting. This creates a varied and stimulating environment that enhances the quality of the experience and encourages customers to stay longer.
